Welcome to The Burrows
Home of the Badger R Users Group

If you write R code at UW–Madison — whether you’re cleaning survey data at midnight before a deadline, building a Shiny dashboard for a lab, or trying to remember how you produced that figure six months ago — you belong here.
BRUG, the Badger R Users Group, is a community of practice for researchers, scientists, and students who code in R. We gather to share tools, strategies, victories, and woes. We help each other figure things out. And we do it in the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea: start on campus, stay open, propagate outward.
Our logo is the R³ die — R in Reproducible Research — three faces, three commitments: to the language, to reproducibility, and to research that others can build on. The Burrows is where that work gets done together.
Get involved
BRUG is free, open, and just getting started. Here’s how to plug in:
- Join the conversation — get on the mailing list or Slack workspace
- Browse the resources — tutorials, workflows, and annotated examples organized by topic
- Come to a meetup — talks, demos, and live coding sessions on campus
